In May 2006, an anti-NATO rally at the gates of the Feodosia seaport turned out to be the beginning of a series of protests in Crimea, which led to the cancellation of the joint Sea Breeze exercise with the US armed forces and to a serious defeat for President Yushchenko in one of his most important political directions - the accelerated transformation of the country into a military outpost of NATO. The success of this protest campaign is largely due to the fact that methods of non-violent pressure on the authorities were used. This book is about methods of non-violent civil protest, about how representatives of local public associations can organize effective resistance illegal actions of the central authorities.
