This book is in no way a history of the 1905 Revolution or a theoretical analysis of its internal forces. The book is a collection of articles and documents written during the struggle and reflecting various moments of our first revolution and the activities of the then revolutionary organizations, in particular the features of the St. Petersburg Council of Workers' Deputies. The materials contained in this volume cover the period from the eve of Bloody Sunday to the beginning 1907. The chronological order of articles and speeches is not strictly followed throughout: exceptions were made in order to group the material into the main sections of the book, dedicated to the major milestones of the 1905 revolution.
