Lev Shestov is the creator of an absolutely amazing concept of “philosophy of tragedy”, largely based on European medieval mysticism, but otherwise boldly anticipating the theory of existentialism. In his works, he invariably opposed the irrational revelation given by God to philosophical speculation and spoke out against the “dictate of reason” - as a set of universally valid truths that suppress the personal principle in man. “Has at least one philosopher recognized God?
