The collection of stories by the outstanding Serbian prose writer M. Pavic “The Iron Curtain” (published for the first time in Russian; translation by L. Savelyeva) builds a bridge from everyday life to the mysterious, magical, transcendental side of reality, which is usually reliably hidden in the shadows of things. Serbian novelist and poet - Milorad Pavic was born on October 15, 1929. He is an expert on the history of Serbian literature from the 17th to 19th centuries, Serbian Baroque and Symbolist poetry. Translated Byron and Pushkin into Serbian. He taught at a number of European universities (in Paris, Vienna, Freiburg, Regensburg, Belgrade). Does not belong to any political party. M. Pavic writes so-called “non-linear prose”. He has written six novels—including The Khazar Dictionary, A Landscape Drawn by Tea, and The Other Side of the Wind—an interactive play, and several collections of short stories that have been distributed online and on CD. His prose is widely published in various countries around the world.
