Who is Sigmund Freud - a psychiatrist, psychologist, philosopher, one of the most famous intellectuals of the twentieth century? How did he influence public opinion, scientific and philosophical thought? In Freud’s teaching, according to one of the founders of social psychology, W. McDougal, “every piece of truth is almost inseparably mixed with error, rests for the most part on dark, very controversial, leading towards the provisions." A prominent French specialist in experimental psychology, P. Fress, came to the conclusion: “Psychoanalysis is faith, and in order to believe, you must first kneel.” Is it permissible to consider Freud’s ideas scientific? There is an opinion that this is just an imitation of science, a myth in the traditions of ancient shamans and spellcasters. One thing is indisputable: Freud’s teachings are a characteristic phenomenon of the spiritual life of modern civilization.
