“Konstantin Konstantinovich Vaginov was one of the most intelligent, kind and noble people I have met in my life. And perhaps one of the most gifted,” recalled Nikolai Chukovsky. The writer, standing apart in the Russian literary environment of the 20s of the twentieth century, was not afraid of isolation: internal space and the imaginary world were more important to him than external recognition and the attributes of a successful life. Konstantin Vaginov (Wagenheim) died at the age of 35. After the death of the writer, during the years of Soviet power, his works were not republished. The first publications appeared only in 1989. In this book, both the prose and the poetic heritage of K. Vaginov are published for the first time.
