This novel was a continuation of the story begun in the novels “The Hunt for the Minister”, “Trap for the General” and “Agentess”. The famous oppositionist and anti-corruption fighter Leonid Nevalyaev, sentenced to three years in prison, is being transferred to the colony where the demoted General Vikulov is being held. In exchange for early release, Vikulov is offered to get closer to Nevalyaev and find out from him the names of the sponsors of his opposition movement, as well as sources of compromising information on senior state officials. Will Vikulov be able to complete the task? Who will beat whom? Or will Nevalyaev convince Vikulov to come over to his side? The plot of the action-packed novel goes far beyond the penal colony. The names and surnames of the characters, as well as most of the events described are fictitious, all coincidences are random.
