...a collection of stories by former dissident Almaz Estekov, convicted by the Soviet authorities for anti-Soviet ideas in 1985 and expelled from the USSR by decree of M.S. Gorbachev himself in 1990. The author vividly and picturesquely talks about his life, about his wanderings and discoveries around the “white world,” about his social and political activities in the USSR and America. Currently, businessman Almaz Estekov lives in the United States, sometimes visiting relatives in Kazakhstan. This publication is intended to tell readers about the attitude of a Kazakh, who was persecuted by the Soviet authorities for his excessive love for the Kazakh land, who, by the will of fate, ended up in America, who found his place in life far from the Motherland, but not broken in spirit.
