Grigory Anisimovich Fedoseev (1899–1968) lived a life full of amazing adventures, a life on the brink of survival, but extremely interesting and beautiful. Actually, even two lives! In his “first” life - as a geologist and surveyor - Grigory Fedoseev managed to fulfill the dream of every boy who had read famous romantic writers. His usual surroundings were pristine taiga, wild animals and inaccessible rocks. Fedoseev was called “the last of the Mohicans”, before whom landscapes that the human eye had never seen were still revealed. The author’s track record included the Kola Peninsula, Transbaikalia, the Caucasus, the Urals, Western Siberia and the Far East, but still the Eastern Sayan took a special place. “We are walking along the Eastern Sayan” - this is how Fedoseev called his first story, based on diary entries and which became unexpectedly surprisingly popular. And so, unexpectedly for himself, Grigory Fedoseev began his “second” life as a famous writer.
