The novel “The Evil Spirit of Yambuy,” presented in this volume, tells about Siberian surveyors, about the daily struggle of these modern explorers with dangers and obstacles that stand in their way... One after another, people disappear near Mount Yambuy: surveyors and nomads in this Evenki region of the Aldan Highlands. The work plan of a huge expedition is disrupted, and the age-old fear of evil spirits is revived among some of the Evenki population. The author truthfully tells how the reasons for the disappearance of people and the superstitions of nomads are dramatically overcome.
