The Olympic Games have long become a real holiday not only for athletes, but also for most people around the world. Everyone is interested in the results of competitions, biographies of athletes, and the most striking pages of the Olympic chronicle. But there is another side to the Olympic movement. We are talking about the secrets of behind-the-scenes struggle, scandals, provocations, unworthy behavior of athletes and judges - in a word, something that contradicts the very idea of Olympism and causes considerable harm to it. It is most often not possible to hide such facts, and many unsightly aspects of the organization of the Games, the behavior of athletes, and political intrigues come to light, often quite shocking the public. The author decided to present the history of the Olympic Games not in points, seconds and kilograms, but in these very scandals and mistakes, sad and sometimes funny situations that arose during competitions, before and after them.
