A palindrome (Greek for running backward) is a word or verse that is read equally from left to right as from right to left. This play was written in the 1970s, in the pre-computer era. According to the author himself, in those years there were an order of magnitude or two fewer publications of palindromes. Phrases that are now generally known, repeatedly used by different authors, were compiled by him in the process of an independent search, sometimes a long one. These are, for example: “The archangel lay down on the temple”; “God is a deception to us”; "Boa Constrictor in Hell"; “Nightmare, shame, shock!” and many others. These and similar short phrases are the common property of all writers of palindromes, and cannot be the subject of dispute.
