The essays of José Ortega y Gasset (1883-1955), collected in this book, introduce the views of the Spanish philosopher on the phenomenon of love. This is not only philosophy, but also history, psychology, and finally, the sociology of love. At the same time, a significant part of Ortega’s works devoted to the nature of love resemble scattered pages of the world History of Women. The works included in this book, except for the collection “Studies on Love” compiled by the philosopher himself and the essay “Overture to Don Juan”, are published in Russian for the first time.
