Spanish philosopher José Ortega n Gasset (1883–1955) is one of the most prescient European thinkers of the 20th century; his ideas, underestimated during his lifetime, become more vital and urgent over the years. Ortega y Gasset did not impose thoughts, but awakened them; Most of his philosophical heritage is rather artistic essays, where philosophy is dissolved, like oxygen, in air and water. They are addressed not to scholars, but to a thinking person, and require him not to agree, but to argue and think. Themes - culture and savagery, land and nation, identity and universality, etc. - not only did not become outdated with the increasing standardization of life, but only became more acute and painful. It is precisely this kind of “philosophical fiction” that makes up the book; it also includes Ortega’s most famous work, “Revolt of the Masses.”
