Danish religious thinker Søren Kierkegaard (1813–1855) is one of the most prominent figures in the history of philosophy. A paradoxical, daring, ironic polemicist and philosopher and at the same time a fiery and passionate preacher, solitary and uncompromising, Kierkegaard had a huge influence on the entire 20th century. The works of S. Kierkegaard presented in this book are devoted to the practice of Christian life. Turning to various passages of Holy Scripture, S. Kierkegaard reveals their existential meaning, showing what it means to be “doers of the word, and not merely hearers deceiving themselves” (James 1:22). The combination of simplicity and depth, characteristic of the works presented in the book, makes them accessible and interesting to the widest range of readers. The translation of “Two Small Theological Treatises” is published for the first time.
