"Songs of Gamayun" as translated by Bus Kresen (the name in the dedication of Alexander Igorevich Asov) is a collection of Russian legends about the Birth of the World, about the gods of the mountains: Svarog, Perun and Veles, as well as about the most revered spirits of the elements and patrons of Rus': Finiste and Lela, Kostroma and Kupala, Morozko and Snegurochka and others. According to the “Songs of Gamayun”, this book is kept in the invisible city of Kitezh near Lake Svetloyarova. And the year 1638 indicated on it is counted from the end of the Trojan Ages, from the time of the departure of Old Bus, a prince from the Beloyar family, to Kitezh. This year corresponds to 2005 according to modern chronology.
