This is a commentary on the works of Stanislaw Lem. It consists of two parts - a dictionary and a guide. The guide is an overview of the main issues Lem addresses, with quotes and some analysis. The dictionary primarily comments on words that have social allusions and connotations, that is, words for which to understand the meaning of their use it is useful to know social parallels - historical, political, cultural. Neologisms, archaisms, scientific, historical, technical ideas and terms are commented on if their meaning is not obvious from the text and if knowledge of their meaning is necessary to understand the work. With this approach, an obviously fantastic term can be left without comment, as well as a scientific term that is incomprehensible to the reader - if it only means what the characters are talking about mathematics, physics, etc. And an “intermediate” term that arouses suspicion in the reader when reading , should be commented. For personal sentimental reasons, one exception was made - the article “The Rustle...” The dictionary comments on Lem’s artistic, literary and philosophical works, and for the works of the last two groups, a higher threshold for commenting was chosen, that is, the compiler of the commentary proceeded from the fact that they were read by a more prepared reader . The selection of quotations in the dictionary was made in such a way as to comprehensively represent the use of this term by Lem.
