We are surrounded by materials. Food and clothing, houses and airplanes, books and computers - everything is made from materials. The parameters of all things depend on the parameters of the materials, as well as on the design and technology. Attempts to create new materials, “the very best”, with some hitherto unseen and unheard parameter values rest on physics, as well as chemistry. The book discusses electrical, magnetic, electromagnetic (including optical) and thermal parameters materials. It is discussed what the limiting values of these parameters are, how they are determined and limited. The book is addressed to the widest range of readers.
