From time to time, critical speeches appear in our press in which the research of individual scientists and even entire scientific fields are classified as pseudoscientific. But if earlier such a classification took place in line with newspaper and magazine discussions, then in 1999 an organization began to operate that claims to be the “ultimate truth” - the RAS Commission for Combating Pseudoscience (chairman E.V. Kruglyakov, ideological inspirer V.L. Ginzburg, both academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences). In their interviews and in the articles of the commission's apologists, lists of topics recognized as pseudoscientific or related to the field of mythology are published.
