But where can people get love if it is not in their soul, and in worldly life you are surrounded not by people, but by monsters? Depraved, vain, vile, envious, dishonest - they carefully disguise their sins and in the eyes of others they look like completely decent citizens, of course, with their own, completely forgivable weaknesses. How can you love your neighbor “as yourself,” if this same neighbor cruelly betrayed you, another neighbor robbed you, and a third deceived you? The hero of the story “The Monk” Sasha Petrov found the answer to these questions. He came to faith, to God - at the cost of doubts, disappointments, mental and physical torment...
