The historiography of Soviet-Polish relations can be divided chronologically. The first stage (1920–1930s) is represented by works examining the military conflict of 1920 on the part of Poland and Russia, mainly materials of a military nature. The works outlined the causes of the war, the policies of the Entente, and the role of the United States in European foreign policy. The second stage (end of the 20th century) is represented by works of a foreign policy nature, where the implementation of the Riga Peace Treaty and the process of transferring prisoners were studied. Poland by that time had ceased to be a People's Republic and an ally of the USSR. After the collapse of the USSR, interest in the past of Polish history increased. The Polish population demanded the truth from the state and a presentation of the overall picture of what was happening. Despite ideological control, the formation of scientific personnel continued, who, following the fall of socialism, began to freely study current issues of Soviet-Polish relations. Dissertation and monographic studies by Polish historians appeared on the problems of Russian-Polish relations in 1920, as well as the foreign policy of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. With their works, Polish authors significantly revived the scientific debate. Based on Russian and Polish archives, Polish research is of keen interest to modern Russian historians. Let us note that if for Soviet citizens, as well as for Russians, the war with Poland and the subsequent defeat in it do not occupy any prominent place in the national memory, then in the Polish historical tradition the victory over Bolshevik Russia has become a cult episode both in historiography and in art and cinema. From a scientific point of view, the author has undertaken a comprehensive study of the topic, representing the little-studied period of Soviet-Polish relations between the two world wars from 1918 to 1939. The history of diplomatic cooperation between two antagonistic powers in Russian historiography has been insufficiently studied to this day. The scientific approach to the study of the Soviet-Polish period in the designated chronological period helps to reveal the blind spots in the relations between Russia and Poland. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
