The poetry of Andrei Korovenkov is somewhat akin to the satirical lyrics of Vladimir Vysotsky - famously ridiculing moral and social deformities. She is not without a touch of self-irony, a sober sense of her own imperfection and an understanding of the temporary limitations of personal existence in this world. What is interesting is that the worlds in these poems are fervently mixed: it is difficult to understand where is “that world” and where is “this one”. The leitmotif is the theme of lost time and reflections on time in general: allotted for life, precious or vain, but, to the bitterness of the author and any mortal man, potentially completed.
