On his first motorbike trip, Chris Scott rode only halfway to Wales. It was from this moment that his development as a motorcyclist began. While working as a courier in London, he tried a variety of machines, from the IT250 to the 900SS (and had one particularly productive week on a nitrous-charged XS65**). In winter, he also rode on two wheels - most often he traveled around the Sahara on an enduro - he describes these adventures and misadventures in his book “Travels in the Desert” (1997). Since then, much water has passed under the bridge and a lot has been done in this direction: he has made films about his travels in the Yukon (Call of the Wild, 2001), the central Sahara (Wanderings in the Desert, which aired on the National Geographic Channel in the UK) and north-west Australia (Rifles Travels (2005)). But most of all he loves the Sahara, where he strives to get to whenever possible and where he periodically conducts tours. His other books include Traveling the Sahara and the desert riding sections of The Extreme Guide to Australia.
