For many years there have been debates: was the Siberian elder Fyodor Kuzmich Emperor Alexander I... Alexander “Strufiana” is immersed in heavy thoughts about politics, the future of the country, unworthy heirs and rebels who have gained strength, he feels his own guilt, does not know what to do, and dreams of leaving, which he cannot decide on (the legend of Fyodor Kuzmich in the seventies was not savored only by the lazy - Samoilov elegantly ridiculed it). This is where deliverance comes - not for anything, but just like that. David Samoilov in this poem gave his version of events: the king was kidnapped by aliens.  Yes, yes, aliens arrived and accidentally dragged a crowned melancholic man into the skies - just a tired man. Of course, in “Kuzmich’s treatise” Samoilov parodied Solzhenitsyn’s “Letter to the Leaders” (only the author of the “Tsyganovs”, who were writing at the same time, made fun of the supposedly patriarchal-utopian project). Of course, Samoilov depicts with sympathy the “rebel life guards” (only he knows how their mess will end). But the poem is still not about them - not about those who somehow remained at the post (it is interesting that the sentry who saw the landing of a strange object died on the spot), but about those who instantly got rid of everything. Went on indefinite leave. And let the strong wind blow in Taganrog, let history rush forward, let unanswerable questions remain unresolved: And the unidentified object flew among the comets.
