Kosinski chose the hero in “Blind Date” to match himself. George Levanter is a philanderer and a scoundrel, a Russian Jew and an American businessman, who on his business card calls himself an “investor”, but in life he plays either a KGB officer, or a terrorist, or even a connoisseur of playing the piano. The description of his adventures is a mixture of a picaresque novel with the tales of the Arabian Nights. Or, maybe, artistic porn with episodes from the biography of Kosinski himself.
