The book by a leading specialist in the military history of ancient peoples is the first systematic study of the military affairs of the Chukchi in world literature (weapons, tactics, strategy, fortification, war at sea), examining it throughout the era known from sources, starting from the second half of the 17th century century, when the Chukchi first encountered the Siberian Cossacks, until the beginning of the 20th century, when armed clashes based on blood feud still took place.
