At the end of 1925, a certain Eduard Emilievich Schmitt illegally crossed the Soviet border and made a two-month journey through Soviet Russia. Under this name was hiding the well-known Russian politician and publicist in the recent past, and then emigrant V.V. Shulgin. Impressions from a country living under the NEP formed the content of the book “Three Capitals”. Facsimile reproduction of the book from 1991. The book is “perestroika,” which is why the editors frankly admitted that they printed the text with cuts (p. 4)
