“The author warns that all scientific positions in the novel have not been proven, unlike everyday facts, which are all fictitious.” With this phrase, Mikhail Ancharov prefaces his most, perhaps, best work, the novel “Boxwood Forest.” As a matter of fact, this is what the writer Ancharov is all about. The probable is incredible, the incredible is quite probable, and the heroes who live in his books are restless quixotes and inventors. The theory of improbability, which he developed and put into practice in his books, is, unfortunately, unstudied in universities, the most necessary, in our opinion, of all theories in the world, including the doctrine of Karl Marx on surplus value. Let us add that the writer Ancharov is the first to time, a Russian bard, and his songs are remembered and sung to this day, and Vladimir Vysotsky, by the way, considered the bard Ancharov his main teacher. And in cinema, the writer Ancharov left a noticeable mark: screenwriter in the film “My Little Brother” based on Vasily Aksenov’s story “Star Ticket”, author of the first Russian television series “Day by Day”, which, on the orders of the government, was extended and instead of the planned nine episodes was shown seventeen, he was so popular among TV viewers. The collection includes the best of what Mikhail Ancharov wrote. Again, in our opinion.
