Pierre de Ronsard (1524-1585) - French “prince of poets”, who influenced English, Dutch, and Polish poetry, inspiring the largest composers of his time. At twenty-eight years old, he was already at the pinnacle of fame even outside of France. Many of his works became classics and entered the golden fund of French poetry. Undeservedly forgotten, Ronsard was again appreciated almost three hundred years later thanks to the activities of Sh.-O. Sainte-Beuve, famous literary historian and critic. In Russia, Pierre Ronsard became famous in the 18th century. In our century, this wonderful poet and philosopher again shone in the work of excellent translators. The collection consisted of three love cycles dedicated to Cassandra, Mary and Helen, as well as odes, hymns, elegies, poems and poems from different years.
