The action begins in Alma-Ata in the 80s and describes from an objective, critical point of view the world of teenage gangs with their everyday life (gop-stop, mass fights, boyish concepts, etc.). This is followed by a description of the times of the collapse of the USSR through the prism of the emerging Almaty punk rock scene. The plot develops through the appearance of new characters and a story about the emigration of the main character, about his moral evolution - loneliness, slums of foreign cities, factory work, addiction to hard drugs (heroin, crack), and, finally, spiritual cleansing through the efforts of conscious will. The central message of the book is to debunk the myth of the incurability of drug addiction and affirm the triumph of human conscious will even in the most severe cases of any type of addiction.
