The police find out that the murdered man entered the country using a fake passport and is allegedly a US citizen, and therefore Jack Morgan, an FBI agent, joins the investigation. In parallel, Morgan’s longtime acquaintance, local crime reporter Arthur Gabidullin, is working on this case. Morgan identifies the murdered man, whom he himself had recently “led” in Mexico.
