His works are classics on positive thinking and action and are consistently popular among readers who study and promote self-improvement methods. Wattles was born in the United States shortly before the Civil War and experienced many hardships in his youth. Later, he began to study various world religious and philosophical teachings, including the works of Descartes, Spinoza, Leibniz, Schopenhauer, Hegel, Swedenborg, Emerson and others, thanks to which he was able to discover new principles of thinking and change his own life.
