Restructuring time. A secret rocket and space company is deprived of regular budget funding and, in order to survive, is forced to sell the services of space flights and experiments in space. During perestroika, ordinary restrictions were replaced by unimaginable possibilities. Previously, the latter became the first, those restricted from traveling abroad joined the international cooperation with the French and act using previously forbidden methods. The old cadre of specialists are not able to rebuild. They are carriers of knowledge, but do not accept new ways of doing things. The hero of the story, with his scientific approach in contacts with the French, wants to find and formulate a universal formula of beauty, but gradually comes to the idea that beauty for him is “better to keep a low profile.”
