What does this mean - time after? This is post-catastrophic time, that is, time that stops all other times; and what is sometimes called timelessness appears. We associate the time after with two events that broke the European history of the 20th century into fragments: Auschwitz and the Gulag. The time after is a consequence of precisely these grandiose European catastrophes.
