Filippo Tommaso Marinetti. The Battle of Tripoli (October 26, 1911), experienced and glorified by F. T. Marinetti. Per. and preface V. Shershenevich. Portrait slave. N. Kulbina. – B.m.: Salamandra P.V.V., 2010. – 97 pp., map, illus. – PDF – (Library of the Avant-Garde, Vol. II).When the Italo-Turkish war broke out in 1911 for control of the colonies in North Africa, which was to become Libya, the founder of Italian Futurism, the frantic urbanist and singer of aviation and cars, Filippo Tommaso Marinetti became into a war correspondent. Marinetti’s military impressions were embodied in the furious essay “The Battle of Tripoli” (1911). This book of poetic prose fully reflected both the literary talent and the militaristic pathos of the Italian futurist. Translated into Russian by the ego-futurist and future leader of imagism V. Shershenevich, “The Battle of Tripoli” has not been reprinted since 1915 and has long been a bibliographic rarity. The publication is provided with detailed comments.
