The book is dedicated to the history of a large medieval state located on the territory of modern Russia and Kazakhstan - the Nogai Horde, which arose during the collapse of the Golden Horde in the 15th century. and ceased to exist in the first third of the 17th century. A detailed study of the political history of the Nogai state is accompanied by essays on individual problems: territory, population, economy, culture, etc. The connections of the Nogai Horde with neighboring states and peoples, including the Tatar and Central Asian khanates, the Kazakh Khanate, Turkey, and the Caucasus are examined. A special essay is devoted to the characteristics of Nogai-Russian relations. The appendix provides genealogical diagrams of the Mangyt nobility - the ruling Nogai clan. The research is based on archival materials, many of which are introduced into scientific circulation for the first time, as well as Eastern and Western European sources, Russian chronicles and other documents.
