The novel takes place in the USA for more than 30 years - from the early 80s of the last century to the present day. All parts of the trilogy, different in genre (thriller, detective, drama), but united by common characters, are, in fact, independent works, each of which, from a new perspective, examines one of the most complex issues of our time - the problem of the death penalty. Brother and sister Owell - young Australian authors, active members of Amnesty International, advocating the universal abolition of the death penalty.
