At first glance, the theme of the book is a naive inventory of the territories we inhabit. But the virtuoso stylist and experimenter Georges Perec (1936–1982) appears in it not so much as an inquisitive sociologist, but rather as a crafty philosopher, comparable to Alice from Wonderland, and also as a puzzling anthropologist: changing points of view and angles, disturbing perception, he proposes to rethink and , humanizing, remaking spaces.
