The book contains almost everything written by B.K. Zaitsev in connection with his stay in the Greek Republic and on the Holy Mountain in April-June 1927. Travel essays “Athos” are reproduced taking into account all three author’s editions of the text, published for the first time two notebooks of diary entries and many sketches by the author. Photos of someone who visited Mount Athos in 1928 and 1930. Swiss writer Frederic Boisson allow the reader to see the inaccessible world of the Holy Mountain as B.K. Zaitsev found it. The appendix contains essays by prominent figures of the Russian Church Abroad from pre-war issues of the newspaper “Orthodox Rus'”.
