The authors of this collection took direct part in the battles of the Great Patriotic War. Ordinary soldiers and commanders, mortarmen and sailors, tank crews and infantrymen, pilots and artillerymen. What is presented here is not a figment of the imagination, but the harsh truth of those years. Each began and ended their military journey in different ways, but all of them were united by front-line brotherhood and devoted service to their Fatherland.
