The essays are dedicated to a symbolic event that determined the life and values of several subsequent generations. Half a century ago, an attempt was suppressed by military means in Czechoslovakia to give a new impetus to the communist movement, combining socialist values with a rational market economy and the mechanisms of developed democracy. The book is the result of the collective work of Russian, Czech and Romanian historians, archivists, cultural experts and literary scholars who tried to rethink the events of half a century ago and their lessons from the perspective of today using new documents and materials. Objectively, the Prague Spring is already a bygone era, but it remains a landmark event, and many of the problems it raised are still relevant today. The authors hope that they will be able to contribute to the increase in knowledge about the now distant 1968, and help analyze the experience of the past for the sake of the future. For specialists in the history and culture of Central-Eastern Europe, students of higher educational institutions and everyone interested in the history of the 20th century. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
