Autistic girl Nadya does not find her place in life until she discovers the world of music. Turning out to be an unusually gifted pianist, she does not strive for fame and tries, first of all, to escape from painful reality through music. Like some people with Asperger's syndrome, Nadya strives to “organize” the world in her head and mentally makes various kinds of lists: for example, a list of deceased pianists in her hometown or a list of students in a non-existent class. Gradually, these lists penetrate into life, mysteriously intertwining and influencing the fate of Nadya and the people around her. The novel “Dead Pianists” is about the loneliness of “man in himself.” About his fictional dead world, which comes to life, mixing with reality. About the fact that we are all a little “people within ourselves.”
