For the first time, the memoirs of the aide-de-camp of Emperor Nicholas II A. A. Mordvinov are published in full. The second part (“The Abdication of the Sovereign. Life at the Tsar’s Headquarters without the Tsar”) describes the internal experiences of the emperor, his reaction to what was happening, as well as The author’s personal assessments of Nicholas II and his immediate circle. The third part (“My Prisons”) presents a detailed story about the author’s several arrests, his time in prison and his unsuccessful attempt to leave Russia.
