Life at the Tsar’s Headquarters without the Tsar”) describes the internal experiences of the emperor, his reaction to what was happening, as well as The author’s personal assessments of Nicholas II and his immediate circle. The third part (“My Prisons”) presents a detailed story about the author’s several arrests, his time in prison and his unsuccessful attempt to leave Russia. Separate memoirs of Mordvinov are also published here: “My meetings with a girl who calls herself the saved Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna” and “How I knew my sovereign and how others knew him.” The publication expands and complements the range of sources on the history of Russia at the beginning of the 20th century, the House of Romanov , the last Emperor Nicholas II and one of the most tragic pages - his abdication and the death of the monarchy.
