This story is about an artist who considers himself one of those called “nickname deniers.” He is extremely isolated from the reality around him and is only engaged in painting commissioned portraits of people who have already left our world. This is how he earns his living. And he ensures his right to live in a world of illusions and memories of those days when he was in love and happy. The new order he received included a requirement to paint not a portrait, but to create a still life with pomegranates. Once upon a time, he was very fond of painting such compositions, which made Baku artists famous. Fulfilling this order, the artist makes a new friend and thinks a lot about fate, the power of fate, the meaning of art and the predetermination of unexpected turns of fate. It is obvious that life itself taught him to perceive with purely Sufi wisdom both his own losses and gains, successes and failures, successes and defeats, and everything that happens in this world.
