The collection presents stories of people who are in one way or another involved in the sea, in the maritime service. Among them there are sailors who still sail the vast seas and oceans, others have retired, others simply cannot help but write about what they saw and experienced in seas unattainable for many, and others have gone to another ocean. All these authors are united by a love of the sea and everything connected with it. It’s not for nothing that the story of our Far Eastern author Viktor Kvashin is called “I Love You Like the Sea.” These words could easily be the epigraph to this book. Here you will find memories of Viktor Konetsky, and revelations of a Soviet-era smuggler, and wonderful stories from the life of the military and merchant fleet, and you will meet Artur Chilingarov off the coast of Antarctica. I would especially like to note the interview with Valentin Savich Pikul and letters from the places of imprisonment of the heroic Soviet Baltic submariner Alexander Ivanovich Marinesko. Happy reading, friends!
