The action of the story “The Last Exhibition” takes place in Nizhny Novgorod in 1896. The XVI All-Russian Industrial and Art Exhibition has opened. The young Emperor Nicholas II comes to see it. Detective Alexey Lykov is in charge of his security and after the sovereign’s departure he is going on vacation. But the management decided otherwise. A policeman is killed, the local police are unable to find the villain. Lykov was entrusted with the investigation. Meanwhile, the killings do not stop... The story “Night Riders” is a continuation of the first. Lykov has completed his investigation and is going home. On the train he meets a suspicious fellow traveler. At night he gets off at a remote station. The detective, obeying his intuition, also leaves the train and follows the stranger...

Повість «Нічні вершники» стала для мене справжнім відкриттям. Автор майстерно поєднує історичні події з детективним сюжетом, створюючи атмосферу загадки та напруги. Дія відбувається в Нижньому Новгороді 1896 року, що додає особливого шарму та автентичності. Персонажі, зокрема сищик Олексій Ликов, прописані дуже детально, і я відчував, ніби сам стаю свідком його розслідування. Читати про вбивства, які не припиняються, та про таємничого попутника в поїзді було неймовірно цікаво. Кожна сторінка тримала в напрузі, і я не міг відірватися від книги. Рекомендую всім, хто любить детективи з історичним контекстом та непередбачуваними поворотами сюжету!
