Heroes of the second part of the book “Pushkin. Brodsky. Empire and Destiny" - one of the most significant Russian poets of the 20th century, Joseph Brodsky, a profound historical novelist Yuri Davydov and the great enlightenment historian Nathan Eidelman. Each of them had their own organic connection with Pushkin. Each of them interpreted the fate of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Empire in their own way. Each had their own empire, their own idea of the essence of the imperial idea and their own creative method of understanding it. They were united by another circumstance that was important for the plot of the book: the author of the book had a long-term friendship with each of them. And therefore, in addition to the analytical narration, there is also a significant memoir aspect. The purpose of the book is an attempt to outline the personalities and destinies of three brightly talented and original-minded people who laid down their lives in the service of Russian culture and played a role in it that is not yet fully understood.
