Herman Melville is an American writer and sailor, in whose work and fate the experience of a traveler and the mythopoetic worldview of an artist surprisingly organically melted. Awareness of the magnitude of Melville’s talent did not come immediately, and only a quarter of a century after the writer’s death did the outlines of the enormous contribution that he made to the treasury of world literature become visible. Melville's central work, the grandiose Moby Dick, became one of the pinnacles of American literature, finally depriving America of its status as a “cultural desert.” This edition includes, in addition to “Moby Dick,” a number of the most significant novels and stories that give an idea of the versatility of Herman Melville’s talent and his writing skills. In December 2015, the next film adaptation of the novel “Moby Dick” directed by Ron Howard will be released on wide screens across the country. "A Beautiful Mind", "Knockdown"), which confirms the unflagging interest in this great creation, as well as the belief in the enduring relevance and modernity of great works of art.
