Medieval France. A fishing village is located on the sunny coast. The wandering adventurer Andre Ermite comes here at the invitation of Lou's servant to celebrate Christmas with his family. On the eve of the holiday, a brutal murder occurs. These lands are under the rule of the Catholic Church: if the culprit cannot be found, the local residents are threatened with the Inquisition. Andre will have to search for the truth among the general mistrust and hostility. Everyone here is bound by family ties and dislike for strangers. Village life is full of superstitions, especially if a witch is involved.
