The book by Marianna Volkova and Sergei Dovlatov “Not Only Brodsky” is a unique genre where the visual element is organically fused with the literary: wonderful photographs of famous figures of modern Russian culture (the metropolis and the Russian diaspora), taken by M. Volkova, are given with special accompaniment texts written by S. Dovlatov for them. Among the heroes of the book are V. Aksenov, A. Bitov, A. Voznesensky, N. Korzhavin, M. Rostropovich and others.
